FX has given the greenlight for a seventh installment of “American Horror Story,” which will air in 2017.

Commented FX Networks and FX Productions CEO John Landgraf, “Ryan, Brad and their team of remarkable writers have done an amazing job of keeping ‘American Horror Story’ endlessly inventive, shocking and entertaining and we are honored to move ahead with them on the seventh installment.”

He continued, “The sustained success through six installments only proves how intensely the series resonates with fans. ‘AHS’ confronts our deepest fears with unmatched suspense and style. Each new installment is a cultural event, hotly anticipated for its theme, imagery, cast and twists.”

The series has received a total of 15 Emmy Awards over the years, including two for “AHS” regular Jessica Lange. Last year, Lady Gaga earned a Golden Globe award for her role as The Countess in “AHS: Hotel.”

Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, the show’s first edition debuted in 2011. The current installment of the anthology series, titled “American Horror Story: Roanoke,” stars Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Angela Bassett, Adina Porter, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Andre Holland.

“AHS: Roanoke” has averaged a total of 13 million viewers since its September 14th premiere.
