There will be a new Jordan Ashford in town on ABC’s General Hospital!

Deadline broke the exclusive news that Tanisha Harper will replace Briana Nicole Henry in her role as Jordan Ashford, the Port Charles police commissioner on ABC’s General Hospital.

She will be the third actress to play Jordan since the character was introduced in 2014. Vinessa Antoine played Jordan Ashford for four and a half years, March 2014 to September 2018.

Briana Nicole Henry became the new Jordan Ashford on September 13, 2018. After her three year anniversary mark, Henry announced that it was time for her to “move on” from General Hospital.

When Henry left the show, the character was written out for the possibility for one of the former actresses or a new one to pick things back up.

As Deadline notes, ”Ashford was sent to a medical clinic in Albany, NY. With one kidney, she was close to renal failure after a near-death experience. The character wasn’t killed off, however, so the door remained open for a return.”

Harper’s episodes will begin airing next month. Her prior credits include Netflix’s Dear White People and Forgetting Sarah Marshall under her belt as well as other credits. She recently appeared in Hulu’s Dollface, HBO Max’s Hacks.
