Coming off of a main role opposite Renee Zellweger in the Netflix limited series, What/If, Keith Powers has joined the upcoming sci-fi thriller, Ghost Draft.

Directed by Chris McKay, the film also stars Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin and Theo Von.  The script was pinned by Zach Dean and Bill Dubuque.

The film, per The Hollywood Reporter (who first reported Powers’ casting), “tells of a future where humanity is losing a war against aliens. To turn the tide, scientists draft soldiers from the past to fight the war.”

Though character descriptions are not known right now, it is said that Powers role will be that of a military commander. The film begins shooting in September with locations including Ireland and Atlanta.

Powers, also known for starring in BET’s The New Edition Story miniseries, also starred in the Netflix original film #RealityHigh.
