'Girls Trip' Director Malcolm D. Lee To Helm Film On Immigrants Working To Take Back Their Countries' Artifacts From London Museum

Another film is from Malcolm D. Lee is coming our way.

Lee’s action/adventure comedy pitch The Spoils has been acquired by Lionsgate, Deadline reports. The film will be produced by Lee’s Blackmaled Productions with a screenplay by Roshan Sethi and Hayley Schore.

The film will focus on a group of immigrants who develop a plan to steal back their respective countries’ artifacts from the London Museum. The film comes at a particular time in society when more and more attention is being focused on museums displaying artifacts from colonized countries and how museums have denied the sordid history behind how those artifacts came to be in their possession in the first place.

Adam Haiken for Blackmaled Productions and Lionsgate’s James Myers and Aaron Edmonds will oversee the film.
