'Girls5Eva' Reveals Season 2 Premiere Date At Peacock, First Footage And Teaser Image Also Released

For its SXSW 2022 panel, Girls5Eva has unveiled a new clip from its upcoming second season, a new image from the season and the premiere date.

The critically-acclaimed musical comedy series starring Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell, Busy Philipps will return on NBCU's Peacock on May 5.

In Girls5Eva, "a one-hit-wonder girl group from the 90s that was churned through the pop music machine reunites to give their dreams another shot. This time they'll try again on their own terms."

In a statement, showrunner Meredith Scardino said, “Season 2 of Girls5eva answers the simple question: What would happen if Girls5eva was renewed for a second season?  We are so excited to share the next chapter in Dawn, Wickie, Gloria, and Summer’s journey as they enter ‘Album Mode’ and embark on making their first studio album on their own terms.”  

The SXSW panel was moderated by guest star, Andrew Rannells as the cast and showrunner talked about series' music, choreography, fashion writing and more.

The Universal Television series is also executive produced by Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, Jeff Richmond, David Miner and Eric Gurian.
