Gloria Reuben is teaming up with Tree Line Film and Hyde Park Television to adapt Dean Koontz’s bestselling novel “Dark Rivers of the Heart,” which was published in 1994 by Alfred A. Knopf.

The thriller-romance follows Spencer Grant, a man on the run from a nameless, violent government agency. His goal is to keep away from his pursuers long enough to find the woman he met the night before, who appears to be their real target. He leads the killers on a frustrating chase, and by the end of the story, Spencer must confront his own personal demons as well as the bizarre sociopathic agent leading the hunt.

Reuben is eyeing the adaptation for television as a series, although how she will specifically be involved (whether in front of or behind the camera, or both) isn’t known at this time.

“I’m delighted to be working with Gloria Reuben, and I’m no less delighted by the team that has coalesced around her. Television has become the ideal medium for long multiple-thread novels like ‘Dark Rivers of the Heart,’ and I look forward to binge-watching this!” said Koontz.

No network is attached at this time.

Currently, Reuben can been seen on USA’s hit, Emmy-winning series “Mr. Robot.”

She’s repped by APA and Atlas Artists.
