In an exclusive Shadow And Act clip from Epix’s upcoming crime drama series, Godfather of Harlem, audiences can get a look at Malcolm X (Nigél Thatch), including his relationship with Bumpy Johnson (Forest Whitaker).

This isn’t Thatch’s first time portraying the Black liberation icon. In 2014, Thatch portrayed Malcolm X in Selma, Ava DuVernay’s Oscar-nominated civil rights drama about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches.

Godfather of Harlem sees Oscar winner Forest Whitaker step into the role of Bumpy Johnson, the infamous crime boss who returned to Harlem in the early 1960s, after spending a decade a prison, to find his neighborhood in shambles and controlled by the Italian mob. Johnson goes against the Italian mob to take back control of Harlem, resulting in a mob war that threatens to tear all of New York City apart. Aside from Whitaker and Thatch, Godfather of Harlem also stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Giancarlo Esposito, Ilfenesh Hadera, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Paul Sorvino.
