That Denzel WashingtonNigga They Couldn’t Kill” video has apparently gone viral, as I’ve seen it shared quite a bit across the blogosphere.

Folks are loving and eating it up. But what some may not realize is that the clip is actually from April 2010, and is part of an hour-long, live conversation that Washington and Viola Davis held with Lynn Hirschberg of the New York Times and its TimesTalk series. This was while Washington and Davis were starring on Broadway in a revival of August Wilson’s Fences.

I posted the entire conversation on the old Shadow And Act site back then, and I’m posting it here again for those who haven’t watched and heard it to do so, because it’s really worth listening to from beginning to end! We get to see Viola Davis in this context; so here ya go, in 5 parts:
