The first trailer for Roberto Minervini’s upcoming film What You Gonna Do When the World’s on Fire? has been released, just in time for the film’s competition entrance in the Venice Film Festival.

The film is shot in black-and-white and, according to Screen Daily, “set among four Southern black communities in the summer of 2017, when police killings of African Americans were dominating headlines.”

The trailer evokes classic cinema verite, lending more weight to this already heavy story based on America’s social climate and racial injustice.

The film stars Michael Nelson, Dorothy Hill, Kevin Goodman, Judy Hill, Titus Turner, Ashlei King and Ronaldo King. The Match Factory is handling international sales for the film.
