A group of Black investors who are starting an all-Black city in Georgia are about to be the subjects of a reality show.

According to TMZ, the 19 Black families have invested in 95 acres of land in rural Georgia to create an a Black-run town named Freedom. The collective are being courted by several production companies, including HGTV, Lifetime, Oxygen, and A&E, among others.

However, the families have a list of demands before they will agree to being recorded for television. Those demands include the town’s founders being able to own the show’s content and how that content is aired. The families also want to control the show’s editing process. These requests are to keep the city and its people from being exploited by the media.

The collective have released a video showing the area that will eventually become the new city.

According to TMZ, the founders want to show the city and its people from an inspiring point of view. It all comes down to which production company is willing to acquiesce to their list of requirements.
