It’s no secret that now-embattled Bryan Singer and Halle Berry didn’t get along on the set of X-2. The director, who has been accused of sexual harassment and abuse, including alleged abuse of minors, has been at the center of on-set controversies that came to a head while directing Oscar-winning Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Prior to this, his penchant for feuding had already been well-documented, particularly regarding how he treated Berry and the rest of the cast.
Page Six says that Berry‘s co-star, Alan Cumming, has revealed in his upcoming book that Singer “has himself admitted he was using painkillers at the time” of filming, and that he “exhibited troubling behaviors including mood swings, paranoia, and tantrums in addition to disappearing from set for hours on end.”
According to Cumming’s book, he, Berry, Patrick Stewart, James Marsden, Hugh Jackman, and Famke Janssen all gathered in Cumming’s trailer in full costume to stage an intervention with Singer. Berry “spoke movingly of people she had known with drug issues.” Singer responded that they were “full of f—ing s–t,” adding that “none of [the actors] had ever made a decent film [and] were lucky to be working with him.”
"I heard enough," Berry reportedly said. "You can kiss my Black a**."
Berry has spoken about her on-set arguments in a 2020 interview with Variety, saying how she would be “very angry” with Singer and “said a few cuss words out of sheer frustration,” but that she still had “a lot of compassion” for Singer.
“I have a lot of compassion for people who are struggling with whatever they’re struggling with, and Bryan struggles,” she said. “Sometimes, because of whatever he’s struggling with, he just didn’t always feel present.”
This behavior is also what Rami Malek complained of on the set of Bohemian Rhapsody, resulting in Singer departing project.
