No stranger to thrillers and action films, Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry has made her name off of films like Gothika and The Rich Man's Wife, as well as recent films like Kingsman: The Golden Circle and John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.
In a bit of recent news, Halle Berry is continuing her foray into thrillers. Berry has joined the upcoming spy thriller Our Man From Jersey, which is slated to air on Netflix.
Berry is set to star opposite Mark Wahlberg, who is set to produce the film. Based on an idea by Stephen Levinson, the film was written by Designated Survivor screenwriter David Guggenheim.
While plot details for Our Man From Jersey, the film is said to be “a blue-collar James Bond.”
Our Man From Jersey is just one of a handful of upcoming projects for Berry. The actress is also set to star in Roland Emmerich's space epic Moonfall and will portray a mixed martial artist in her upcoming directorial debut Bruised.
The increase of Berry action movies is what is. deserved after Berry was seemingly kept out of some films, including a 007 spinoff that MGM allegedly declined.
“The plan was foiled when MGM got cold feet about the film’s $80 million budget. That decision left Broccoli incensed," Variety reports. "One of her main goals as steward of 007 has been to shake off some of the chauvinism that characterized Bond’s appearances in the novels and early films.”
