nullIt's a movie that, at one point, seemed like it would never see the light of day but according to Thompson On Hollywood, the Halle Berry comeback film Dark Tide, directed by John Stockwell, will finally get released on VOD (video on demand) then hit theaters.

It's not a "typical" distribution strategy but Wrekin Hill, the company holding US distribution rights to the film, will partner with Lionsgate and follow up the VOD release with a theatrical run on March 30th.  The popular flick Melancholia was released with a similiar strategy.

If you'll recall, Berry stars as a diving instructor who is "drawn to close encounters with the White Sharks that rule the shores of the isolated island on which she lives." Olivier Martinez plays Halle’s husband in the movie, who “chooses ambition over his wife’s safety in a split second encounter with the jaws of death, leading to their marriage nearly falling apart.

Berry was last seen on screen in the romantic-comedy New Year's Eve and will appear in the much-anticipated Cloud Atlas being helmed by the Wachowskis.

Now, if only we can get the 411 on Frankie And Alice
