'HANATU' is a short film that celebrates the confidence and hope of a young village girl

Hailing from Golden Effects Pictures, HANATU is a story of hope and triumph despite circumstances. Produced and directed by Kunle Afolayan, HANATU follows young corps member Preye who helps a little village girl who lost her father in a tragic accident, from which she barely survived with a lost leg. Preye encourages the girl by helping her obtain a prosthetic leg via The Sahara Foundation and introduces her to new confidence.

HANATU is produced in partnership with The Sahara Group, which has a mission rife with “sustainability, responsibility and extrapreneurship,” according to its website.

“It is an expression of who we are and what we do – providing opportunities for aspirations to blossom into fruition. It is the mantra of hope; the demystification of impossibilities; a clarion call for sustainable development across climes and times,” said a Sahara spokesperson.

The cast includes Bimbo Manuel, Gabriel Afolayan, Joana Momodu, Teslimat Abubakar-Eradiri and Segun Akintunde.
