Delroy Lindo is reportedly departing his series regular role on CBS All Access’s The Good Fight and is in early negotiations to star in a new ABC pilot from writer Zahir McGhee.

Titled Harlem’s Kitchen, the pilot is a family restaurant drama set in Harlem and will be directed by Stephen Williams. Lindo is in early negotiations to play Ellis Rice, an executive chef and family patriarch who manages a restaurant alongside his wife and three daughters.

However, Rice’s life is upended when a sudden death puts the family business in jeopardy.

Lindo, who portrayed Adrian Boseman on The Good Fight, had nothing but great words to say about his time on the NBC legal drama.

“My time working on The Good Fight has been a rich and rewarding collaboration with Robert and Michelle King. The lines of communication between us have always been open and respectful, and that’s made the journey of creating Adrian Boseman deeply gratifying,” he said in a statement to Deadline. “A heartfelt thank you to Robert and Michelle, Brooke Kennedy and the formidable and stellar ensemble of actors, who have also contributed deeply to my joy working on The Good Fight.”

Deadline first broke the news of this story.
