HBO To End "Treme" After Season Four

nullO.K. I confess. I never really watched HBO's New Orleans-set drama Treme. I tried a few times but I never got through the first 10 minutes of any episode. Don't know why; maybe because there are no flesh-eating zombies in it, like The Walking Dead. Who knows?

The show, with an ensemble cast including Wendell Pierce, Khandi Alexander, Kim Dickens and Melissa Leo, got great reviews and loyal folllowers, but it always struggled to get ratings, never topping more than 2 million viewers collectively; That's compared to HBO's Boardwalk Empire; its premiere episode alone pulled in over 10 million viewers.

So, it shouldn't be that much of a surprise when exceutive producer David Simon announced today in the New Orleans Times-Picayune that, earlier this week, he and HBO agreed to end the show after its fourth season.

It just recently started production on its third season, which means that you and I still have time to catch up on it.

Maybe they'll bring in zombies this season.
