Described as a “gripping small-town drama series,” Heels is based on a group of men and women who have come together to create the Duffy Wrestling League in rural Georgia. According to the official description:

Heels is a story about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small-town pro wrestling. Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals, Jack Spade (Amell) and Ace Spade (Ludwig), are at war over their late father’s legacy while working to find their identity and their individual versions of success. “Heel” is a common wrestling term used to describe the antagonist or villain in the ring, however, the line between hero and heel is much less clear for this sibling rivalry outside of the ring.

The second season starts after the league’s successful showing at the South Georgia State Fair. The league’s popularity is growing and in an effort to capitalize on the opportunity, Jack and his group are up for a business deal with a new streaming service that could lead to national success. “But,” states the network, “the past and its tragedies threaten to upset everything when Ace leaves Duffy and the Dome in his rearview, meanwhile rival promotion Florida Wrestling Dystopia’s vengeful frontman Gully comes calling.”

Heels also stars Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, Allen Maldonado, Kelli Berglund, Trey Tucker, Chris Bauer, Robby Ramos, Alice Barrett Mitchell, David James Elliot, Roxton Garcia, Joel Murray, CM Punk, Josh Segarra, AJ Mendez, Emmy Raver-Lampman and Mike O’Malley, who also serves as the series’ showrunner and executive producer via his production company O’Malley Ink.

The series is created by Michael Waldron and executive produced by Christopher Donnelly, Pete Segal, Patrick Walmsley and Julie Yorn. LBI Entertainment produces with O’Malley Ink in association with Lionsgate Television for STARZ.
