Help Byron Hurt's "Soul Food Junkies" Documentary Reach Completion (Fundraising)

Back in April we posted the trailer for Soul Food Junkies, a forthcoming PBS documentary examining the culinary traditions of soul food and its relevance to black cultural identity.

Award-winning filmmaker Byron Hurt (Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes, Barack & Curtis) began the project in the wake of his father's health issues and refusal to change his diet, and the film has grown to include the views of cooks, historians, scholars, doctors, family members, and everyday people.

Now, as the film nears its January 2012 completion date, the production team is depending on you to help fund a portion of the costs for editing, motion graphics, sound design and other expenses.

Their goal is to raise $25,000 by December 31st, 2011. Check out the Kickstarter page HERE for more info and to support the film.
