Common on SUICIDE SQUAD setHere’s a look at Common in costume on the set of David Ayer’s "Suicide Squad," although the character he plays is still a mystery, as it was never formerly announced.

Fanboys are speculating online that, based on the tattoos, he’s playing a character named Abel Tarrant, a.k.a. Tattooed Man. I guess it’s fitting. Who’s he? A villain apparently, with the power to turn his tattoos into deadly weapons.

Others say that the fangs on the jacket he’s wearing suggest that he’s playing Bronze Tiger. Who’s he? Michael Jai White played the character in previous episodes of the WB’s action drama "The Arrow" – a claw-wielding assassin better known as well known to DC Comics fans as a member of both the League of Assassins and the Suicide Squad. On "Arrow," he formed an unholy alliance with fan-favorite villain China White (played by Kelly Hu), another well-established character in the DC Comics universe.

Whichever character it is that he’s playing, Common joins Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (playing Killer Croc), Viola Davis (as Amanda Waller), Will Smith (who’ll be playing the character known as Deadshot), as well as Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared, Leto (The Joker), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Joel Kinnaman (as Rick Flag), Jay Hernandez (as El Diablo), and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) in the upcoming movie.

The "Suicide Squad" series follows a group of super-villains who are forced to go on covert missions for a shadowy government agency, in exchange for commuted sentences.

WB plans to release the movie during the summer of 2016.
