Jacob Anderson, better known as Grey Worm from Game of Thrones, was stopped by TMZ and was asked about his opinion on the fan petition to remake Season 8. As seen from some of our Game of Thrones social media recaps, fans aren’t taking too kindly to this season, which many have complained is being rushed and making characters act out in ways they never would. Even worse, the show has committed the sin of killing off one of its only Black characters, Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) for the sake of a white character’s revenge plot, Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke) revenge plot, to be specific.

When asked by TMZ what he would say to fans that want a redo of this season, his reply was simple: “That sucks.”

Anderson’s response doesn’t give any indication as to how he feels about this season, but he does say earlier in the video that he’s happy with the resolution Grey Worm gets at the end of this season. Emmanuel, on the other hand, gets deeper into fans mixed emotions when she interviewed with Entertainment Weekly after her character’s demise.

“So many people die in that show and I guess I didn’t think I was any safer than anybody else in that respect. But I am fully aware and engaged in the conversation of representation because I am the only woman of color in this show that has been on there regularly for many seasons,” she said.

“…So this is a conversation going forward about when you’re casting shows like this, that you are inclusive in your casting. I knew what it meant that she was there, I know what it means that I am existing in the spaces that I am because when I was growing up, I didn’t see people like me,” she continued. “But it wasn’t until she was gone that I really felt what it really, truly meant. Until I saw the outcry and outpouring of love and outrage and upset about it, I really understood what it meant.”

The series finale airs this Sunday.
