In an interview on the CBS daytime show The Talk, actor Taye Diggs revealed a third installment in The Best Man franchise is likely but it may be totally different than what fans are used to.

“ I do think it will happen. We’ve all been in discussions with the director, Malcolm Lee. I think it might end up being a TV series, maybe on a streaming platform,” Diggs said.“But the script has already been written. So we’ll see. I’m just waiting on Malcolm Lee.”

The first installment of the franchise, The Best Man, was released in 1999 and grossed $34 million on a budget of $9 million. The sequel, The Best Man Holiday, was released in 2013 and grossed $71 million worldwide.

The franchise also stars Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Monica Calhoun, Harold Perrineau, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard and Melissa De Sousa.
