Season 3 of Tyler Perry’s BET+ show, Bruh, recently premiered on the network. Bruh is one of the many shows that director, producer, and scriptwriter Tyler Perry makes for BET+. It debuted on the network in May 2020 and is now on its third run.
The show follows the lives of a group of 30-something Black men as they explore the world of dating, careers, and friendship. If you’re familiar with Tyler Perry’s Sistas, Bruh is set in the same universe—some of the characters even cross over.
The show airs on BET+ on Thursdays. You can also stream it by adding BET+ to your Amazon Prime Video subscription. Additionally, Tyler Perry’s Bruh is available on Fubo TV, DirecTV, Sling TV, and Spectrum on Demand.

Monti Washington (Bill Frazier)
Monti Washington plays “the architect” Bill Frazier on the show. Washington was born in New York and raised in Arizona. He’s a writer, actor, model, and motivational speaker who went from sleeping in parks and being raised by drug-addicted parents, to being a prestigious actor and motivational speaker.
Washington has starred in a handful of independent films and TV series, as well as been featured in numerous commercials, and spoken at more than 130 venues across the nation. Some of his most recent roles include Terrence in BET’s newest drama series, Games People Play, and as Vaughn in ALLBLK’s Stuck With You.
Mahdi Cocci (Tom Brooks)
Mahdi Cocci plays “the doctor” Tom Brooks on Bruh. Cocci was born in Minneapolis, MN, and was originally in the Navy before making the switch to acting. Cocci earned a full Navy ROTC scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh and served as an officer in the Navy upon graduation. After serving, Mahdi pursued a career in acting.
His first professional credit was earned on the TV series, Dynasty, in 2018. Cocci has since had parts on many shows including The Gifted, MacGuyver, Games People Play, and more. Cocci also had a leading role as Keith in the Netflix film, The Lovebirds, starring opposite Issa Rae.
Phillip Mullings Jr. (Mike Alexander)
Phillip Mullings Jr. plays “the lawyer” Mike Alexander in the show. Mullings is an actor-filmmaker from Orlando, FL. He began his career as a performer while attending the University of Central Florida in 2014. Upon graduating with his Graduate Degree in 2017, he relocated to Atlanta, GA to pursue his acting career full-time.
Barry Brewer (John Watts)
Barry Brewer plays “the businessman” John Watts. Brewer was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago and began his entertainment career as a stand-up comedian in 2002. Brewer has worked the stand-up circuit his entire career, perfecting his craft by performing in comedy clubs throughout Chicago before moving to Los Angeles in 2004.
Brewer is best known for his stand-up comedy special, Chicago I’m Home, the web series The Perfect Plan, and on BET’s Games People Play. In addition to his acting and comedy career, Brewer is an accomplished musician, songwriter, and music producer. He has worked with numerous artists including Brandy, Ray J, and Tank, and has recorded two studio albums.
Chandra Currelley-Young (Alice Watts)
Chandra Currelley-Young plays Brewer’s mother on the show, Alice Watts. Currelley-Young is an actress and singer who landed her breakout role when she starred in the 1995 Apollo Revival of The Wiz as Evillene, The Wicked Witch of the West, and received a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Lead Actress in a Musical.
Currelley-Young is a recurring face in Tyler Perry’s stage productions and films. She is most known for her stage roles in Tyler Perry’s Laugh to Keep From Crying, A Madea Christmas, and Madea’s Big Happy Family. She’s also known for her on-screen roles in Diary of a Mad Black Woman and For Better or Worse.
