Black Panther star Winston Duke will star in Paramount Players thriller Heroine. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be directed by Dan Casey, who wrote the science fiction/brotherly drama Kin starring Myles Truitt, Zoë Kravitz, Jack Reynor, Dennis Quaid and James Franco. Matt Kaplan of Ace Entertainment is set to produce.

Winston will play a vigilante who, in a move reminiscent of Superman character Steel, has built a metal suit fight villains. The villains in this case are called the Aryans. Winston’s character will most definitely come into contact with a mother who has survived domestic abuse and moved into Winston’s neighborhood only to find herself in peril once again after she witnesses an Aryan gang committing a kidnapping.

This is just one of Duke’s headlining project post-Black Panther. In May, we reported that Jordan Peele has tapped Duke, Lupita Nyong’o and Elisabeth Moss in his upcoming thriller Us and in July, we reported that Duke will step into the role of MMA fighter Kimbo Slice in the biopic Backyard Legend.
