The recently-canceled High Fidelity was intending on giving Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s character Cherise the spotlight.

According to the Los Angeles Times, former High Fidelity co-star Kingsley Ben-Adir said that Cherise would have gotten the entire second season to expand her character.

“Annoyingly, Season 2 was really gonna be a Cherise-focused season,” he told the LA Times. “She was gonna become the lead of the show, and the story was leaning toward being about where she’d come from, her heartbreaks and her family background.”

Unfortunately, we won’t get to see more of Cherise’s arc due to Hulu ending the show after just a season. Thankfully, we will get to see more of Randolph in films The United States vs. Billie Holiday, which is currently in post-production, and Shriver, which is currently filming.
