How to Get Away With Murder‘s series finale drew the biggest numbers for the series since 2018.

The finale brought in in 3.24 million total viewers, the series’ hugest audience since October 2018. When the rest of the numbers come in, it could potentially be the largest audience since March 2018. The series also scored the best in its demographic in over a year, earning a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49. The series also had its largest Live+Same Day audience.

The series, which began in 2014, has made Viola Davis even more of a household name as she portrayed the complex lawyer and teacher Annalise Keating. As Annalise, Davis has been able to explore the gamut of her talents each week while leading a cast of diverse actors, including Aja Naomi King, Billy Brown, Amirah Vann, Alfred Enoch, Conrad Ricamora, Karla Souza, Matt McGorry, Charlie Weber, Jack Falahee, Liza Weil and Rome Flynn.

The show arguably helped to cement Davis’ status as a modern icon, as she became the first woman of color to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series. Along with Scandal, led by Kerry Washington, the two Shondaland series provided representation that had not been seen on broadcast television.

How to Get Away with Murder was created and executive produced by Peter Nowalk. Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Stephen Cragg also served as executive producers. The show was produced by ABC Studios, a division of Disney Television Studios.
