You know how you get annoyed when YouTube plays ads during its videos? Netflix has been testing the same thing.

The Verge reports from TechCrunch that Netflix is currently testing a feature that plays a promotional video in between episodes of the series you’re binging. According to TechCrunch, “[t]he promos are full-screen videos, personalized to the user, featuring content Netflix would have otherwise suggested elsewhere in its user interface–like a row of recommendations, for example.”

Users have gotten so irritated that they have gone to social media like Twitter and Reddit to let Netflix in on their displeasure. The Verge got info from Netflix that the promo feature isn’t permanent and viewers can skip the promos.

“We are testing whether surfacing recommendations between episodes helps members discover stories they will enjoy faster,” Netflix told the outlet.

Thankfully, TechCrunch also wrote the feature isn’t a part of a new interface rollout. “Instead,” the site states, “it’s one of the hundreds of tests Netflix runs every year, many of which are focused on how to better promote Netflix’s original programming to its customers. The test is currently live for a small percentage of Netflix’s global audience.”

Since it’s only affecting a small number of users, you might not ever see this feature during your usage of Netflix. But if you’re trying to binge the latest season of Stranger Things or Dear White People and you come across this new feature, don’t be alarmed, since, more than likely, it won’t be affecting you too much more in the future.
