We all want to see Emmy winner Jharrel Jerome as a big star in Hollywood, but Sorry to Bother You‘s Boots Riley wants to see Jerome as a 13-ft. tall star to be exact.

Riley tweeted about the television project he has in the works with production company Media Res.

“I have a show about a 13-ft tall Black man who lives in Oakland. It’s called I’m A Virgo. Jharrel Jerome is playing the lead,” he tweeted. “I’m doing this w Michael Ellenberg’s Media Res. We haven’t decided on the network/streamer. It’ll be dark, absurd, hilarious, and important.” Along with the tweet was artwork promoting the project.

Riley’s strange concept is right on brand for the director, who successfully put his oddball sensibilities on display in Sorry to Bother You. The film also displays Riley’s sense of social justice and pro-Black awareness, which Riley has put on display not just in his creative endeavors, but also in his critiques of current films that relate to the Black experience. I’m A Virgo will certainly bring something new, fresh and provocative to the television landscape.
