IndieGoGo Campaign For Black Film Review Web Series 'Reel Soul"

Thanks to S & A, the Chicago based black film review webseries, Reel Soul, has been a success. And if you don't believe me, just ask co-creator and co-host Vaun Monroe.

As he says, "a modest webisode series called Reel Soul tested the waters with Shadow and Act’s viewership to see if two guys discussing Black film had an audience. The show’s purpose is to promote appreciation of Black Cinema and media literacy. We launched the endeavor with an initial slate of ten episodes organized around topics familiar with moviegoers such as genre, starstudies etc.  These ten episodes were successful and we’re ready toexpand our coverage even more."

Now Monroe (left in the photo), who’s a filmmaker, an assistant professor in the Film and Video Dept at Columbia College Chicago, and senior story analyst for Ithaca Entertainment along with his partner in crime Lee Bey (right), an architecture critc and the excecutive drector for the Chicago Central Area Committee, a business and cultural development group in Chicago, have bigger plans.

They have now started an IndieGoGo campaign to raise funds to produce the next ten episodes, and expand their coverage even more.

To find out more about the show, see a video clip, and to donate, go HERE.

And yes, that is actor Harry Lennix in the middle, helping out some buddies.
