Michael B. Jordan’s production company Outlier Society is joining forces with Christopher McQuarrie to produce Iron Curtain, an upcoming action thriller for Amazon Studios.

Deadline first reported the news. While it’s in early development, plot details for Iron Curtain are being kept under wraps. McQuarrie, who penned the original script in 2003, will handle rewrites alongside Emmy winner Erik Jendresen.

McQuarrie is known for his frequent collaborations with Tom Cruise, having written and directed several films in the Mission Impossible franchise. Most notably, McQuarrie wrote and produced Top Gun: Maverick, for which he was nominated for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay at the 95th Academy Awards. McQuarrie will rejoin Tom Cruise to write and direct the upcoming films Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part Two, which will respectively arrive in theaters in 2023 and 2024.

Meanwhile, Jordan will produce Iron Curtain alongside Elizabeth Raposo under Outlier Society. News regarding Iron Curtain’s development comes on the heels of the critical and commercial success of Creed III

The film, which marked Jordan’s directorial debut, grossed over $155 million domestically and over $271 million at the international box office. In the wake of Creed III’s success, word came that Jordan will reportedly develop a Creed universe across film and TV for Amazon Studios.
