ITV America has announced a deal with executive producer Carlos King (“The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “Hollywood Divas”) whose company, Kingdom Reign Entertainment, will become a production label under ITV America, with King serving as president. In addition to his vast experience creating hit docu-soaps, King also will develop and produce unscripted series across a range of lifestyle, reality and other genres, under the ITV America umbrella.

King reports to ITV America Chief Creative Officer Adam Sher and Leftfield Entertainment CEO David George, who made the announcement.

Said Sher and George in a joint statement: “Carlos has an expert eye for talent and the ability to identify fascinating worlds with diverse lifestyles and experiences that are relatable, aspirational and fun to watch. He’s also a vibrant force of creativity and humor, which makes him a great partner. All of us at ITV America are eager to support Carlos as he continues to showcase strong characters, and to offer him the freedom to expand and create breakthrough content across many styles and genres.”

Added King, “I’ve always been drawn to worlds that elevate distinct voices and celebrate a glamorous and unapologetic view. I’m thrilled to team with ITV America and its legacy of standout programming and huge roster of talent. This is an amazing opportunity for Kingdom Reign to continue to bring viewers our brand of glossy content and expand into new genres of television, including documentaries and scripted, to best showcase multiple realities and unique perspectives.”

With over a decade of experience in the industry, King has served as executive producer on a variety of series for such networks as Bravo, WE tv, VH1, MTV, OWN and TV One, including “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi’s Wedding,” “I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding,” “My Super Sweet 16 Featuring Lil Wayne & Reginae,” “Hollywood Divas,” “THE NEXT :15” and “Selling It In the ATL.” He also served as co-executive producer on “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” and “DON’T BE TARDY… for the Wedding.” Prior, King served as producer on Season 25: “Oprah Behind the Scenes” and the first two seasons of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”

ITV America – like BBC America is to the BBC (UK) – is the American arm of ITV Studios, the television production company owned by giant British broadcaster ITV plc. ITV America is behind some of the biggest brands on American television, both in non-scripted and scripted programming. It is the largest independent non-scripted producer in the US, such as: Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Kitchen Nightmares,” “Sit Down, Shut Up,” and “Nanny 911”; NBC’s “Hit Me, Baby, One More Time,” the American version of their crime drama “Prime Suspect,” and “Little Friends”; CBS’ “Eleventh Hour”; VH1’s “But Can They Sing?” and “Celebrity Fit Club”; A&E’s “Airline,” “The First 48” and “House of Dreams”; and MTV’s “Room Raiders,” to name a few.

The deal was brokered by Ed Simpson, executive vice president, business development & international at ITV America.
