Beloveds, OWN’s popular reality series Fix My Life is ending, according to the woman at the center of it.

“This is my last season. This is my legacy season, I’m out. We out. 2020,” said life coach and famed fixer, Iyanla Vanzant during a virtual press conference. Filming for the current season is still underway but Vanzant admits the coronavirus pandemic brought on its own set of challenges for production.

“This season we deal with the massive breakdowns that have occurred in families and relationships as a result of the pandemic [and] as a result of the shutdown. We’re dealing with some very compelling issues,” she said.

The seventh season opened on Oct. 31 with reality star Shay Johnson as Vanzant tries to help her and her family through longstanding issues. Also set to appear this season is Comedian Luenell and her daughter to mend their relationship.

Vanzant’s honest and tough-love approach receives mixed reviews from viewers. While many appreciate her aggressiveness in getting guests to look inward, others believe the show is exploitative.

Celebs who’ve had breakthroughs on the show include notorious reality TV bad girl Evelyn Lozada before and after her marriage to Chad Johnson. Others who’ve blasted Vanzant and felt the experience was not beneficial are The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Sheree Whitfield and DMX.
