In the 6-part docuseries, Smoove takes a look at the lives of six of the iconic Black comedians–Dick Gregory, Moms Mabley, Redd Foxx, Rudy Ray Moore, Flip Wilson and Paul Mooney–who pioneered the industry. The series features commentary about the daily struggles within the Black community and how the comedians fought for equality while being themselves. The series is described as giving “listeners an impactful look at comedic history that goes far beyond their punch lines.”

Funny My Way focuses on breaking boundaries in comedy and honors the Black comedy icons that shattered barriers by boldly defining themselves beyond the limitations of their time. Using interviews and archival clips from TV shows, comedy albums, and talk shows, our host, J.B.
