The teaser trailer for Robin Hood hit the internet today (May 3) and places the vigilante in a thrilling revolt against the corrupt English crown.

Classic tales reimagined are fertile ground for Hollywood directors and writers. In this one, Foxx portrays Little John, the leader of the outlaw group Merry Men and the best friend of the titular character, portrayed by Kingsman actor Taron Edgeron. By the looks of the trailer, Foxx’s character plays an instrumental role in Hood’s transition from war-hardened crusader to all-out warrior in the film.

Directed by Otto Bathurst, Robin Hood was written by Ben Chandler and David James Kelley. Under Bathurst’s direction, the trailer takes a more modernized approach to the classic tale, including scenes with dramatic slow motion and high octane fight sequences. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Foxx compared the look and feel of Robin Hood to the action thriller Zero Dark Thirty.

Robin Hood also stars Jamie Dornan, Ben Mendelsohn and Eve Hewson. The action flick arrives in theaters November 21. Check out the teaser trailer below.
