Corinne Foxx, the daughter of Jamie Foxx, is updating the public about her father’s health and speaking out against media outlets spreading misinformation.
“Update from family: Sad to see how the media runs wild,” Corinne wrote on her Instagram Story on Friday. “My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!”
In a statement on Instagram on April 12, Corinne said her father “experienced a medical complication.” She also said he was “on his way to recovery” that was “due to quick action and great care.”
A source who spoke to People on April 21 added that Jamie is OK, but he’s still in the hospital.
“Doctors are running tests, but he’s awake and alert,” the source told People. “They’re keeping him under observation.”
Rumors continued to spread in the following weeks as reports indicated that the actor may be in danger. Fans are now relieved after hearing the latest update from the family, but also frustrated with the false reports that have been spreading in the past few weeks.
