Roadside Attractions has released the first trailer for the Gloria Steinem film, The Glorias. Aside from Alicia Vikander and Julianne Moore playing Steinem,  Janelle Monáe is Dorothy Pitman Hughes and Lorraine Toussaint is Flo Kennedy. Directed by Julie Taymor, the film is written by Taymor and Sarah Ruhl, based upon My Life on the Road by Gloria Steinem.

The official description for the film reads in part, ” The Glorias traces Steinem’s influential journey to prominence—from her time in India as a young woman, to the founding of Ms. magazine in New York, to her role in the rise of the women’s rights movement in the 1960s, to the historic 1977 National Women’s Conference and beyond. It includes a number of iconic women who made profound contributions to the women’s movement, including Dorothy Pitman Hughes (Monáe), Flo Kennedy (Toussaint), Bella Abzug (Bette Midler), Dolores Huerta (Monica Sanchez) and Wilma Mankiller (Kimberly Guerrero).

While aa theatrical release was originally planned, the film will now be released on Sept. 30 on digital and streaming via Amazon Prime Video.
