Janelle Monáe’s acting career is getting stronger. Deadline has announced Monáe will star in the Gloria Steinem biopic The Glorias: A Life on the Road.

The film stars Alicia Vikander and Julianne Moore as the feminist and activist in different phases of her life. Julie Taymor will direct the film. Taymor is also producing the movie along with Lynn Hendee and Alex Saks through Fifty-Four Pictures.

She’ll be playing Dorothy an activist who co-founded the Women’s Action Alliance with Steinem and other activists in 1971.

Monáe, who gained Oscar-worthy status with her roles in Moonlight and Hidden Figures, can be seen next in Welcome to Marwen, starring Steve Carrell, Leslie Mann, Diane Kruger, Eiza González and Gwendoline Christie. Welcome to Marwen will be in theaters Dec. 21.
