Janet Hubert is feeling “peace” now that she has reconciled with Will Smith.

People reports that Hubert and Smith’s relationship have been building after their 2020 public reconciliation during the HBO Max The Fresh Prince of Bel Air reunion. Hubert talked about the relief she’s been feeling from her new relationship with Smith, which includes texting “back and forth all the time.”

"If there are tree roots in the drain, the water doesn't flow," she said. "The drain has been snaked."

She also talked about the resurgence she’s seen in her career post her reconciliation, saying, “I don’t know if it’s a comeback. I haven’t come from anywhere; I’ve been here. It’s just now…I always had to prove myself. I also had to walk in with a presupposition, and I don’t have to do that anymore, which is really lovely.”

During the reunion, Hubert and Smith were able to talk honestly about their decisions during the height of Fresh Prince fame. While Smith talked about feeling “threatened” by Hubert’s star power and his emotional need to try to impress her, Hubert talked about how her mental health suffered from Smith’s treatment of her. She also later revealed to Pop Viewers that she considered suicide after getting blackballed by the entertainment industry, but kept going because of her son, saying “He saved me…I knew I had to take care of that little boy.”
