Respective to Shadow & Act’s interests, we’re noting that Jeremy Tardy has been cast as Dwayne Taylor, aka Night Thrasher, and Kate Comer has been cast as Deborah Fields aka Debrii.

Tardy recently co-starred in Netflix’s Dear White People as Kenyan student Rashid Bakr, while this will be Comer’s breakout role. She had a minor role in HBO’s The Comeback.

In the comics, he doesn’t have any superpowers but excels in martial arts and is aided by advanced body armor. In the series, he will be an entrepreneur with a popular YouTube channel and a “shameless self-promoter” who “deeply believes in justice.” He is afraid to real he comes from a rich family because he think’s he’ll lose street cred.

Deborah Fields aka Debrii, is a New Warriors member who is telekinetic. In the series, she will be confidently out as a lesbian, described as “proud, funny and quick witted.” She has no problems with telling you how she feels. She’s experienced loss in her personal life in attempts of being a hero.
