This was the second casting news to come on Tuesday, after it was announced Sinbad would play the series regular role of Howery’s father

Jordan R. Jones is also a series regular, playing Howery’s brother.

The series revolves around a “prideful, self-made success who lives by the code to ‘always believe in yourself and great things will come,’ who finds that attitude put to the test when he learns his wife is having an affair with his own barber. He tries to rebuild his life post-divorce as a long-distance single father on the South Side of Chicago who is on a quest for love, respect and a new barber.” Howery is writing the script and Carmichael is an EP. Mike Scully is the would-be showrunner.

Angela Laketa Moore was initially in the role of Tiffany, Rel’s “supportive, kind and driven best friend,” but according to Deadline, the recast happened after the table read.

This is Moore’s first major role in television and film. She appeared on MTV’s Wild ‘n Out and HBOs’ All Def Comedy.
