Jharrel Jerome has aspirations of the superhero variety.

While on the red carpet for the Critics’ Choice Awards, Jerome told Variety that his next goal is to play Spider-Man, specifically Miles Morales.

“That’d be tight,” he said. As it would; Morales is Afro-Latino, and Jerome has a Dominican background. Jerome would be able to bring authenticity and lived experiences to the role, giving us a version of Miles audiences could be proud of.

Jerome also said that he’s thrilled with how his career has shaped up at such a young age.

“When you dream of being an actor, you don’t know exactly what kind of actor you’ll be or what roles you’ll have,” he said. “The fact that I’m in this position at this age, I feel grateful and I want to just keep moving forward and doing it for my people.”

Jerome would be a spectacular choice for Morales, so let’s hope Marvel and Sony are paying attention.
