‘Jonathan Majors is gearing up to spar with Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed and says he’s taken a lot of hits to the face.

The Lovecraft Country star has joined the Creed franchise alongside Jordan, starring as Creed’s latest opponent in Creed III.

Although much isn’t known about Majors’ Creed III character, the actor recently opened up about his body went through while filming.

While speaking with Variety recently, Majors shared that he pushed his body to the limit for the role. Not only did he work out immensely to make his muscles larger, but the actor also took a few hits on set, which weren’t at all staged.

Jonathan Majors spent over a year preparing for his 'Creed III' role.

To get in tip-top shape for the third installment of the Creed franchise, Majors trained for at least a year to prepare.

By the end, his muscles were so big that he couldn’t even fit into wristbands for the Chanel pre-Oscars party.

“Over time, they just got bigger and bigger,” Majors told Variety.

The actor got punched in the face during filming.

In addition to growing his muscles, Majors also underwent another physical sacrifice for Creed III.

While speaking to Variety, the actor, who plays a boxer in the film, revealed that he was hit a few times during filming. However, he insists that he did not sustain any injuries.

“I got punched in the face about 100 times,” Majors shared. “But it’s all OK!”

Other from the fact that both actors and Tessa Thompson are starring in the film and that Jordan will serve as director, not much else is known.

What can be deduced is, like all films in the Rocky and Creed franchise, Adonis will have to face against a fierce opponent to prove himself and become a champion.

Creed III will be released in theaters on November 23, 2022.
