Jordan Peele Hasn't Exactly Ruled Out Being The Presenter For His 'The Twlight Zone' Reboot

Jordan Peele is having another moment. Following the success of Get Out, the newly minted maestro of modern day horror has founded a production company, aptly titled Monkeypaw Productions. In addition, the production house is garnering more buzz, in large part due to the uproarious applause of the film BlacKkKlansman.

In an interview for Varietythe comedian discussed the impact of Get Out, the importance of genre and his plans for the upcoming reboot of The Twilight Zone. In the article, Peele revealed that the reboot of the classic anthology series was the project he was the most reluctant to take on.

The realization, for me, was that it was an opportunity to attempt to continue with Serling’s mission,” Peele said. “If we approach it without ego and sort of bow to Serling, that will hopefully suffice for our fellow ‘Twilight Zone’ fans but also bring back a show that I think is needed right now.”

While paying homage to Serling is clearly a goal of his, Peele is still unsure whether he wants to implement Serling’s on-camera presenter role for the revival, fearing his presence would overshadow the show itself. The feature states, “Peele has resisted — but not ruled out — stepping into Serling’s on-camera presenter role for the revival. The new series will have someone in that job, speaking directly into camera, teeing up each episode. But Peele worries that his face is too associated with comedy, that his presence would undermine the serious work he’s putting in to do right by Serling’s legacy.”

Regardless, this reboot is something to watch for in the coming months.
