Amazon Studios is negotiating to secure Lovecraft Country creator Misha Green and Lovecraft Country star Jurnee Smollett’s latest project, Fuel.
According to Deadline, the two are pitching Fuel as an action movie they will produce from a script by Kat Wood. The film would star Smollett as a getaway driver who is forced to work for a criminal. Deadline describes the film as “an action-packed female empowerment story that will subvert the relationship between cars and masculinity.”
Amazon Studios appears to be winning out over other potential buyers after a contentious bidding war.
Aside from Fuel, Green will also write and direct the next Tomb Raider film, making the jump from TV to film.
