Kat Graham has joined the previously-cast Forest Whitaker and Theo James in the end-of-world action thriller “How It Ends” to be directed by David M. Rosenthal from a screenplay by Brooks McLaren.

The Sierra/Affinity-developed project (with Paul Schiff Productions) has been picked up by Netflix for global distribution.

“How It Ends” is set during a mysterious apocalyptic event and follows a young father (James) who fights to get home to his pregnant wife on the other side of the country. Graham plays the pregnant wife, described as loving and encouraging; while Whitaker plays Tom, the wife’s domineering father who James will have to stand up to., as they eventually have to work together.

Sierra/Affinity is financing the film.

Paul Schiff, Tai Duncan, Kelly McCormick, and Patrick Newall serve as producers. Nick Meyer and Marc Schaberg will executive produce.

Kat Graham can currently be seen in Morgan Creek’s Tupac biopic, “All Eyez on Me” playing Jada Pinkett-Smith.

Whitaker’s busy both in front of and behind the camera as a producer of several indie films of note; coming up, he’ll appear in feature films “LAbyrinth,” “Finding Steve McQueen,” “The Forgiven” and “Black Panther.”

“How It Ends” begins production next month in Winnipeg, Canada.
