Keke Palmer has been added to the cast of Aziz Ansari’s directorial debut, Being Mortal, which already stars Bill Murray and Seth Rogan.

From Searchlight Pictures, the project is based on Atul Gawande’s nonfiction book, Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End.

Ansari also wrote the script, produces it alongside Youree Henley and has a role in the project as well.

The Hollywood Reporter, which exclusively broke this news, states: “Logline details for Mortal are being kept in the casket, but the book explores the concepts of death and aging and how the medical profession tends to mishandle both. Searchlight has previously described the project as being at the intersection of “insightful humor and pathos.”

The always booked and busy Palmer currently hosts Foodtastic and Disney+ and stars in the steamer’s The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. She stars in the recent film, Alice, opposite Common and also stars with Daniel Kaluuya’s upcoming film Nope.
