For a new film on its slate, A24 has tapped a stellar cast.

Kelvin Harrison Jr. will topline the dramatic musical Waves, which sees him collaborate once again with director Trey Edward Shults, who directed him in It Comes at Night. 

Sterling K. Brown, Netflix’s Lost in Space star Taylor Russell and Lucas Hedges have also been cast.

The description reads: An energetic, affecting anthem of contemporary teenage life, the plot follows two young couples as they navigate the emotional minefield of growing up and falling in love. Scored by Oscar winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, the film is said to be almost entirely synchronized to music.

Production is set to begin soon in Florida.

Harrison is on a roll right now. Just this year, he’s starred in the festival favorite MonsterAssassination NationMonsters and Men and Jinn. Later this year he stars with Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer in Luce, JT Leroy with Kristen Stewart, Gully with Charlie Plummer and Jacob Latimore and The Wolf Hour again with Watts.

This is Us star Brown has The Predator releasing soon and is filming The Rhythm Section with Blake Lively and Jude Law.

Russell, who is in post-production on several films, will return for season 2 of Lost in Space.
