Kerry Washington in SCANDAL / ABC

With “Scandal” now officially a season away from its end, star Kerry Washington has wasted no time stacking up film and TV projects for her post-“Scandal” professional life, via her newly-formed production company Simpson Street.

There’s the Warner Bros. film adaptation of Brit Bennett’s bestseller, “The Mothers”; there’s a film adaptation of another novel, author Natalie C. Anderson’s Kenya-set murder mystery “City of Saints & Thieves,” which has been optioned by Universal Pictures for Will Packer’s Will Packer Productions and Kerry Washington’s Simpson Street shingle to produce; and still another novel, Tri-Star has picked up adaptations rights to author Aimee Molloy’s novel “The Perfect Mother,” with Kerry Washington attached to star as well as produce; and at ABC, Washington set up 2 projects: a comedy titled “Melting Potts” and an LAPD drama about 4 women police officers.

None of these has become a reality yet, but they were all announced in the last year, so there’s time.

We can now add another Universal project titled “24-7” based on a pitch by screenwriter Sarah Rothschild, which the studio plans to develop as a starring vehicle for Washington and Eva Longoria to both star in as well as produce via their respective production houses.

Details on “24-7” are few at the moment (we don’t know what story it’ll tell), except for a description that calls it “a workplace comedy.” But when we know more, so will you.

Up next for Washington, she provides some voice work in the upcoming Disney/Pixar animated feature “Cars 3” which opens nationwide on June 16.

Deadline was first to report the news on “24-7.”
