After bidding from a number of studios, Lionsgate is reportedly in final talks to land Shadow Force.

The action drama is penned by Leon Chills and has Kerry Washington and Sterling K. Brown attached to star. The script had been previously described as a fresh take on Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Both actors produce the project as well. Washington is currently filming her Hulu series with Reese Witherspoon, Little Fires Everywhere, and has several other projects also set up. American Son the film version of the Broadway play she starred in, just premiered at TIFF and will bow on Netflix.

Brown is back filming This Is Us for the NBC drama’s fourth season and is garnering critical acclaim for his role in A24’s Waves, which just screened at Telluride and TIFF.

Deadline, who first broke the news that studios were bidding, also broke that Lionsgate will take the film.
