Keyshia Cole is bringing her life story to Lifetime with Keyshia Cole: This Is My Story. The television film is one of three film projects coming to Lifetime involving music superstars including Janet Jackson and TLC.

Cole’s biopic, which debuts on the network June 24 at 8/7c, will star Cole alongside Debbi Morgan, with music producer Ron Fair serving as co-executive producer and music supervisor. Cole will also be creating new music for the production.

The film will follow her early career in Oakland as she honed her musical talents to become a multi-platinum-selling recording artist and TV personality, according to the description. The film will also focus on her “complicated yet warmhearted relationship” with her mother Frankie Lons (Morgan). The film will be part of Lifetime’s celebration of Black Music Month.

“This is a story of a daughter’s love for her mother and although my heart remains broken from her untimely passing I am honored to be sharing it with the world,” said Cole in a statement. “Playing the role of myself was a unique opportunity to re-live special moments in my life that also gave me the chance to process her loss in ways I did not expect. I miss her every day and even though she is not here, her presence was felt throughout this film. Mom, I love you.”

Lifetime’s Black Music Month celebration will also include TLC Forever, which will be simulcast on Lifetime and A&E on June 3. The documentary will center the remaining TLC members Chilli and T-Boz telling their experiences in their words.

According to the description, the documentary will chronicle “the journey of the top-selling American female group of all time who led the way with their music, message and their style. The special documents the revolutionary group that broke boundaries, influenced an entire generation and survived against all odds as T-Boz and Chilli tell their story for the first time in a feature documentary.”

The documentary is directed by Matthew Kay and executive produced by Roger Ross Williams via his and Geoff Martz’ production company, One Story Up.

Lifetime and A&E have also greenlit the second documentary about Janet Jackson, Janet Jackson: Family First. The second documentary will follow Jackson as she prepares for her 2023 “Together Again” tour and the equally highly-anticipated reunion of The Jacksons, thanks to a collaboration between Jackson and her brother Randy.

“I was touched by the love and support from the wonderful fans who enjoyed the documentary last year,” said Jackson in a statement. “I am excited to continue to share my story, and welcome fans into my life and the ‘Together Again’ tour. Thank you for your never-ending support, and Ihope you enjoy the next chapter.”

Randy, who also executive produces, added, “In this next chapter in the documentary, Janet and I are thrilled to welcome viewers on the road with us as we embark on the ‘Together Again’ tour, celebrating the milestone of 50 years of Janet’s career with fans across the country. We look forward to the continued partnership with Lifetime and A&E, and to sharing our family with viewers.”
