John Woo’s upcoming action thriller, Silent Night, has tapped Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi to join the cast. He joins Joel Kinnaman, Harold Torre and Catalina Sandino Moreno. The project is from producers Thunder Road Films and Capstone Studios.

With an original screenplay is written by Robert Lynn, Silent Night is currently shooting in Mexico City.

According to the official synopsis, “Godlock (Kinnaman) is a father on a mission to avenge his young son who was tragically caught in the crossfire of gang violence on Christmas Eve. Shot and nearly killed while in pursuit of the murderers, Godlock vows to avenge his son by any means necessary.”

David Haring, Joe Gatta and Ruzanna Kegeyan executive produce the project for Capstone while Mike Gabrawy, and Will Flynn exec produce talents for Thunder Road.

Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee also produce for Thunder Road, with Christian Mercuri producing under Capston and Lori Tilkin for A Better Tomorrow Films.

“Based on what we’ve seen from set so far, it’s clear that Scott has a presence and gravitas that is incredibly captivating,” Gatta said in a statement received by S&A. “He is a powerful addition, and perfect complement, to this stellar cast.”

Mescudi has several projects he is currently working on, including his feature directorial debut Teddy for Netflix. Mescudi can also be seen in the Oscar-nominated film Don’t Look Up, Bill & Ted Face The Music, HBO’s We Are Who We Are and season 3 of Westworld, as well as his documentary A Man Named Scott and A24’s X.
